PhotoSmart Scanner HPI_­SCL.­dll for HP Photosmart Photo Scanner Type: Software HP PhotoSmart Scanner HPI_­SCL.­dll version 2.­2.­1.­7 for Windows 95/­98.­ Resolves Can't Communicate Errors While Scanning Prints or Negatives.­ Version: 2.­2.­1.­7.­ hpi_­scl.­dll corrects a possible timing error between the HP PhotoSmart scanner and Windows 95/­98.­ After upgrading Operating System to Windows 98,­ or installing an HP PhotoSmart Photo scanner on a new Windows 98 Operating System,­ Can't Communicate errors occur when scanning negatives or prints.­ Installation Instructions: 1.­) Close PhotoSmart scanning software.­ 2.­) Click Start,­ Find,­ Files or Folders.­ 3.­) Type HPI_­SCL.­dll.­ Search from the root of C (C:).­ Click Find Now.­ NOTE: This file will be located in C:WindowsSystem.­ 4.­) Rename HPI_­SCL.­dll to HPI_­SCL.­old.­ 5.­) Copy updated file into C:WindowsSystem folder.­ 6.­) Open PhotoSmart Scanning software.­ Scan negatives or slides.­ NOTE: It is recommended that you name the existing C:WINDOWSSYSTEMHPI_­SCL.­dll to HPI_­SCL.­dll.­old before proceeding.­
